Product Features
High Precision for Patient Safety: Offers accurate monitoring of lithium levels, addressing the critical need for precision due to lithium’s narrow therapeutic index and risk of toxicity.
Cost-Effective and Easy-to-Use: Single-reagent, spectrophotometric test simplifies workflows, reducing labor and costs compared to traditional methods like ion selective electrodes (ISE).
Wide Measuring Range: Covers lithium concentrations from 0.10 mmol/L to 3.00 mmol/L with a low limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.10 mmol/L.
Enhanced Reagent Stability: Incorporates an innovative pH stabilizer to maintain reliability and extend on-board reagent shelf life. No Interference: Demonstrates robust performance without interference from common serum components.

Assay Principle
Lithium is determined spectrophotometrically through a formation of a lithium/chromogen complex. When a sample containing lithium ion is mixed with the reagent containing porphyrin derivative at an alkaline pH, the lithium/chromogen complex is formed, resulting in a change in absorbance which is directly proportional to the concentration of lithium in the sample.

Intended use
Diazyme Colorimetric Lithium Assay kit is for quantitative in vitro determination of lithium in human serum or EDTA plasma. Measurements of Lithium are carried out to ensure that proper drug dosage is administered in the treatment of patients suffering from bipolar disorder and to avoid toxicity.
