| Product Features The Diazyme enzymatic assay for fructosamine provides improved specificity and reliability compared to conventional NBT-based methods. The assay is highly precise with a mean intra assay <2% and mean inter-assay CV of <3%. The assay offers extensive linearity from 30 mmol/L to 1200 mmol/L. The assay has no significant interference from: ascorbic acid (4 mg/dL); bilirubin (2 mg/dL); glucose (1200 mg/dL; hemoglobin (100 mg/dL); triglycerides (250 mg/dL); and uric acid (15 mg/dL). The reagent is stable for 12 months when stored @ 2°-8°C |

Assay PrincipleThe Diazyme enzymatic assay for glycated serum proteins (GSP) uses a proteinase to digest GSP into low molecular weight glycated protein fragments (GPF), and uses Diazyme’s specific Fructosyl Amine-Oxygen Oxidoreductase to catalyze the oxidative degradation of Amadori product of GPF to yield amino acids, glucosone and H2O2. The H2O2 released is measured by a colorimetric Trinder end-point reaction. The absorbance at 600 nm is proportional to the concentration of glycated serum proteins (GSP). |

| Intended use The assay kit is for the quantitative in vitro determination of Glycated serum proteins (enzymatic fructosamine) in human serum. Glycated serum protein is formed due to a non-enzymatic Maillard reaction between glucose and amino acid residues of proteins. In diabetic patients, elevated blood glucose levels correlate with increased glycated serum protein formation. Glycated serum protein is a medium term indicator of diabetic control (2-3 weeks). |
