Xanthine Oxidase (EC 1.17.3.2)

Xanthine Oxidase or Xanthine: Oxygen oxidoreductase, catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine and xanthine to uric acid:

Hypoxanthine
+ O2 + H2O
Xanthine + H2O
Xanthine
+ O2 + H2O
Uric Acid + H2O2

Diazyme's Xanthine Oxidase is purified from microorganisms with less than 1x10-3% of contaminating enzymes. The enzyme is useful for enzymatic determination of inorganic phosphorus, 5’-nucleotidase and adenosine deaminase when coupled with other enzymes in clinical analysis.
