Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.49)
Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase or D-Glucose-6-phosphate: NADP+ 1-oxidoreductase catalyzes the following reaction:
D-Glucose-6-phosphate + NAD(P) |
→ ← |
D-Glucono δ-lactone-6-phosphate
+ NAD(P)H2. |
|---|
Diazyme Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase is extensively purified from microorganisms. The enzyme utilizes both NAD+ and NADP+ as co-factors. The enzyme is useful for the enzymatic assay of NAD+ or NADP+ and Glucose-6- phosphate, and activities of phosphoglucose isomerase, phosphoglucomutase and hexokinase.
